Employee Suggestion
Award Earnings Program
In general, any suggestion from an employee or team of employees that offers an improvement in safety, costs, productivity, efficiency, conditions, services to the public, energy resources, or employee morale is eligible.
Suggestions must also be creative, reaching beyond the employee's regular job responsibilities. For example, an office worker once suggested replacing light bulbs with LED lights. This great idea was not part of his regular job duties.
Ineligible suggestions include:
Suggestions that are currently under consideration Approved suggestions and/or Best Practices Complaints or grievances Salary/classification/benefit changes Enforcement of existing rules or regulations Routine maintenance matters Ideas that propose unclear or non-specific practices, and Effort that would be expected as a part of doing your own job well
Team suggestions are eligible. The Award Earnings Program Coordinator will route your suggestion to the appropriate departmental director for expert subject matter evaluation. If approved, they will forward their recommendation to the executive team for their approval or denial. All submitted ideas will be reviewed on a weekly basis and a reply will be sent back at that time.
If the executive team believes the idea has merit, they will approve the temporary implementation of the idea for 1-2 months to determine actual savings or improvements.
Every suggestion tried and proven during implementation will be given a $500.00 cash award. In January, all accepted suggestions will be put into a drawing to win airline tickets for two to anywhere in the United States ($600.00 value).
